Composition: Cyclosporin


Mechanism of Action:

Cyclosporin functions by preventing the synthesis of interleukin-2, a vital growth factor for T cells, which prevents T cell activation. This results in a lowered immune response, which keeps the body from overreacting in autoimmune diseases or rejecting organ transplants.

Storage:

Keep the product at room temperature, the recommended range is 20°C to 25°. Store away from moisture and in a dry environment. Keep out of direct sunlight and keep in original packaging.


How to use this medication?

This drug should be taken by mouth. Take it as indicated on the prescription label at the same time every day. Use a properly marked oral syringe, spoon, or dropper to measure each dose. Ask your pharmacist if you do not have one. Domestic spoons are inaccurate. Combine your dosage with room-temperature orange or apple juice. It should not be combined with any liquid, including grapefruit juice. Keep taking it unless your care team tells you to stop.

Talk to your care provider regarding the use of this drug in children. Precautions do apply, even though children as young as one year old may be taken this drug for specific illnesses.

 

People over 65 years of age may have a higher reaction and need a smaller dose.
