  • Description

Ambilon 50mg Injection contains Liposomal Amphotericin B is an antifungal used to treat leishmaniasis and serious fungal infections.

Brand Name: Ambilon

Composition: Liposomal Amphotericin B

Mechanism of Action:

One of the main components of fungal cell membranes, ergosterol, is bound by liposomal amphotericin B. Cell death results from this binding's disruption of the membrane's integrity. Improved medication distribution to the infection site is made possible by the liposomal formulation, which also reduces toxicity to human cells—especially the kidneys.

Uses:

·         Candidiasis

·         Cryptococcosis

·         Mucormycosis

Side effects:

  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Nausea

Dosage and Administration:

Administrated through intravenous route, to lower the chance of infusion-related reactions, infusion rates should be monitored carefully. The dosage is dependent on the patients tolerance and clinical response.
