  • Description

Dasanat 50 mg Tablet contains the active ingredient dasatinib, a type of chemotherapy drug known as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It is mostly used to treat leukemias that are positive for the Philadelphia chromosome (Ph+), such as Acute lymphoblastic leukemia and Chronic Myeloid leukemia.

Brand Name: Dasanat

Composition: Dasatinib

Mechanism of Action:

Dasatinib functions by blocking a number of tyrosine kinases that are essential for cancer cells to proliferate and survive. It specifically targets the BCR-ABL protein, which is generated in Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and Chronic Myeloid leukemia (CML) as a result of the abnormal Philadelphia chromosome. Dasatinib inhibits this protein, which stops cancer cells from proliferating and causes them to die.

Uses:

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)

Chronic Myeloid leukemia (CML)

Dosage and Administration:

Dasatinib dosage is decided by the condition being treated and the patient's reaction to treatment. Tablets should be swallowed whole, with or without food. To prevent the drug from entering your body through your skin, do not break or shatter the tablets.
